CHROMQUEST SPECTRAL ANALYSIS SOFTWARE

Photodiode array detection system with breakthrough proprietary LightPipe technology The proprietary Model 6000 LightPipe flow cell is the most important advance since photodiode array technology was introduced in the 1980s. The LightPipe is the heart of a detection system that meets the most demanding requirements for sensitivity, performance, accuracy, and precision.

Unmatched sensitivity and performance

The Model 6000’ s LightPipe 50 mm flow cell is five times the industry standard length, yet no light is lost, due to its special interior surface. Flow cell volume is only 2 µL per 10 mm for sharper, higher peaks which greatly increase sensitivity.

Deuterium and tungsten-halogen lamps intensify the light level across the 190 nm to 800 nm spectral range, limiting baseline noise for greater sensitivity at longer wavelengths.

Performance

A 20 Hz high-speed diode array allows faster collection of data, permitting more accurate representation of narrow peaks. Selectable data acquisition rates for your application help reduce file size.

A 20-bit A/D converter provides finer digital resolution of baseline noise, reducing quantization error.

  • 5 times the signal with a 50 mm flow cell
  • Savitsky-Golay bandwidth filtering
  • Dual lamps for increased light level across the entire spectral range
  • 20 Hz high-speed data rate for more accurate peak representation
  • Enhanced diagnostics
  • Total system performance validation

An innovative beam shaper—stacked optic fibers that have collected emergent light from the flow cell—reshapes the light into an efficient narrow vertical beam before it is transmitted to the diffraction grating. All light is collected, unlike competitive mechanical "slit" optics. The beam shaper delivers 1.2 nm digital resolution using the 512 element array across the 190-800 nm spectral range.

Precision

The Model 6000 diagnostics permit real time monitoring of lamp intensity and usage. A built-in cuvette filled with holmium-oxide solution and diagnostics software verify wavelength accuracy during validation testing and enable electronic recalibration.

The unique validation program not only verifies wavelength accuracy, but also linearity, noise, and drift. Validation is at your fingertips. Printed reports provide evidence of the Model 6000’ s performance.

Sensitivity

The LightPipe flow cell—5 times the length for 5 times the signal.

  • Longer LightPipe flow cell path length for greater signal/noise ratio
  • Reduced flow cell volume
  • Protected analog electronics for low noise
  • Deuterium and tungsten-halogen lamps for increased light level across the full spectral range
  • Rise time and bandwidth filtering for lower short-term noise

Performance

Innovative optical design for better spectra and greater application flexibility.

  • Unique stacked fiber-optic bundle enhances sensitivity
  • Minimal light loss — unlike competitive designs
  • Higher data acquisition rates for more accurate spectral representation
  • 20-bit analog/digital converter for better signal
  • Greater application flexibility

Precision

Built-in calibration procedures for confidence in the data.

  • Real-time monitoring of lamp intensity spectrum
  • Electronic calibration of wavelength
  • Maintenance log automatically tracks calibration data
  • Validation mechanism simplifies detector evaluation
  • Automatic collection of noise and drift data
