Programming Prometheus 300 Plus

Programming Prometheus 300 Plus is simple. Flow rate and pressure limits can be set in each method. Up to four (4) methods can be stored having different parameters. The front panel of the PCD system has eight keys which allow the user to Edit, Save and Run different methods. Up to four pressures points ( reagent 1 & 2, reaction coil and HPLC column pressure ) can be edited by entering the min and max values. Constant monitoring of the pressure allow the unattended operation of the system. In case the pressure limits are exceeded Prometheus 300 Plus will shut off the PCD pump, the HPLC pump and the heating of the coils. Diagnostic messages are displayed too. Run and Stop keys can activate or deactivate the Marathon I PCD pumps. In addition the front panel includes electronic control of the inert gas.N STOP GA

Easy access of Prometheus 300 Plus E

The top cover of the Prometheus 300 Plus can be lifted if the top front center screw is turned clockwise with a small coin. The cover can be lifted as it shown in the Figure and various service repairs could be performed. Having the top cover lifted frequent inspections for leakage can be made and the replacement of different parts is easy. Cleaning is easy too. Any leaks from fittings can be cleaned thoroughly with water and dry paper towels, when especially hydroxide solutions are used. Standing salts and hydroxide solution are corrosive. In order to facilitate different post column derivatization reactions, reactor coils can be replaced without having to take the PCD system apart. The top cover can be secured again if the screw is turned counterclockwise.

 

Automation

Prometheus 300 Plus PCD system can be fully interfaced with any other perpheral device such as an autosampler or automated solid phase extraction system. It can be triggered by an automated SPE system (Prospekt) or autosampler or can send a trigger signal to them. A fully automated SPE-HPLC-PCD system for glyphosate analysis in water samples is demonstrated. The different components of the entire system, including the acquisition hardware and software, the detector autozero, the analytical HPLC system and the Prometheus 300 Plus (the derivatization reagent pumps are activated by Prometheus 300 Plus) are all time programmed for on/off status by the Prospekt external events. A single start of the Prospekt initiates a programmed series of cycles (runprograms) for on-line solid phase extraction of water samples followed by chromatographic analysis, post column oxidation/ derivatization and detection by fluorescence detector. The system can be operated unattended.
