SSI Gradient Control allows you to convert any two Series II or Series III pumps to a high-pressure binary gradient system in minutes. Using the standard RS232C connectors on the back of the pumps, any combination of these pumps may be used to form a gradient system.

This flexibility means that a Series II and a Series III pump can be combined to give a fully interactive system with pressure feedback and max/min pressure trips at an unrivaled price. Add two more pumps for quaternary high-pressure gradient capacity!

If you already have an isocratic LC system with Series II or Series III pump, you can easily upgrade to a high-pressure binary gradient system with the purchase of a second pump and the gradient control software from SSI.

Connecting the pumps to your PC

Connecting the pumps could not be easier. All you need is two free COM ports on your PC and to be running Windows '95 or higher. The gradient control kit comes complete with software and 2 cables--one standard cable and one cable with an external start. The second pump control cable (not TTL-compatible) provides contact closure start from an injector or relay contact from an autosampler. Optional interface cards provide additional COM ports for pump connections and TTL-compatible run/stop control.

Software operation

Anyone who has used Windows-based software will be able to operate this system within ten minutes of installation. With an additional "click and edit" user-friendly graphic control feature, the setting up of solvent gradients is wholly intuitive.
